State & Nationally Recognized Schools

Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District is proud to list our schools that have achieved state and national recognition:

The California Gold Ribbon Schools Award is given by the California Department of Education to honor outstanding public schools that demonstrate exemplary achievements in implementing state standards. The California Distinguished Schools Program is on hiatus as California continues its transition to new assessment and accountability systems. The Distinguished Schools Program established in 1985 honored public schools that showed improved student outcomes as measured through Standardized Testing and Reporting scores and additional measures. Approximately five percent of California schools are awarded this honor each year following a rigorous selection process.

The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.
