November Home Prices Pop, Slightly Slower Than October

National Stats - The winter home buying season is normally a bit slower than the spring and summer months. However comparing home prices from winter 2021 to 2020 we see impressive gains. According to the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller National Price index, prices rose 18.8% YoY. Comparing the October to November YoY we do see a slight drop from 19% in October YoY price gains.

Tracking the 10-city composite climbed 16.8% annually, down from 17.2% in the previous month.

“Despite this deceleration, it’s important to remember that November’s 18.8% gain was the sixth-highest reading in the 34 years covered by our data (the top five were the months immediately preceding November),” noted Craig Lazzara, managing director at S&P DJI.
